WoW MoP New Features + Game Changes
MoP New Features
List of Overall Game Adjustments/Additions
with WoW MoP
New Level Cap: Players can
now advance to level 90
New Profession Cap:
Professions can now be leveled up to 600
New Character Slot: Each
server now has 11 character slots available
Account-Wide Pets: In MoP
pets acquired by one character will be shared among all characters
on the same Battle.net account.
Pandaria Flight Rules: Like in
Burning Crusade, players will only be able to fly in the new
zone after they have reached the max level, 90.
Pandaren Racial Mount: The
Pandaren mounts will be Cloud Serpents. Each player can
raise their own by doing 20 days of daily quests.
Auto Learn Spells: You no
longer have to buy spells from your trainer. They are
automatically learned as you level up.
Area of Effect Looting: When
a player loots a corpse with other lootable corpses within range
of the player, then all loot from those corpses will appear in a
single loot window!
New Farming Mini-Game: The
Tillers faction will allow players to run a farm! The farmer's
market will provide a daily quest to improve your farm every
day, you will be able to clear plots of land and plant things
like cooking ingredients, herbalism nodes, faction reputation
turn-ins, and more.
Dungeons & Raids: 9 new dungeons and 3 new epic raids
(with 3 difficulties) will be available at the start of MoP
World Raid Bosses: World raid bosses
will once again spawn. At the start of MoP there will be 2 new
Final Raid: The final
content patch in MoP will allow players to take part in the
Siege of Orgrimmar. Both factions will attempt to end the reign
of Garrosh, the Warchief.
PvP: New battleground maps
with different objective styles, and a new arena map are
planned. STV Diamond Mine will be Payload Style gameplay.
of Power will be Murderball style gameplay.
New Creatures: Jinyu
(fish-like), Hozu (monkey-like), Verming (rabbit-like),
insect-like), Mogu (ancient race that used to control Pandaria),
Sha (manifestation of evil energy)
Factions: Reputation with
related factions will be able to be earned simultaneously
alleviating the single faction grind system.
List of Minor/Specific Game Changes with WoW
Raid Finder Loot: The LFR
loot system will allow all players to roll individually. The
highest few rolls will win loot. If a player wins the roll and
the boss has no loot that player can use, then an amount of gold
will be awarded.
Heroic Only Dungeons: Blizzard
plans to only have heroic level 90 dungeons in MoP and no normal
max level dungeons anymore.
Mount Variety: There will be
more different types of mounts in WoW MoP to be acquired rather
than lots of simple color changes of the same models.
Mount Quantity: There are
already more new mounts in WoW MoP than there were in Cataclysm.
Quest Rewards: Quests will
reward Valor Points to keep players immersed in the world.
Quests may also offer a specific daily buff that gives certain
stat or loot benefits.
Guild Perks: New guild perks
will be added, and a few old perks like Have Group, Will
Travel are being removed and replaced with different ones.
Central Locations: The plan
is to keep players adventuring in the world with MoP. Blizzard mentioned
that they didn't want players to just sit in SW or Org once they
completed a lot of end game content. The Horde and Alliance
central locations on Pandaria will be separate to encourage more
Pre Mists of Pandaria Event:
A patch roughly two weeks before launch may involve a scenario
with Theramore and the Alliance vs Horde theme. Chen Stormstout
might also come to the local cities and get players excited
about what is coming. Some simple rewards may be offered to
players who complete pre-Pandaria content.
Patch Sequels: Each content
patch will be like a sequel to the most recent patch completely
reforming the storyline.
Ranged Weapons: Hunters have
no minimum range and no longer have a melee weapon. All other
classes no longer have a range weapon. Some classes can throw
their melee weapon, and wands will become main hand weapons.
Therefore, ranged weapons and 2h melee weapons will have the
same stat budget.
Shaman Totems: Totems that
were used primarily for a buff will be removed. Totems will now
be used for utility only such as roots, repels, absorbs,
assisted damage, etc.
Druid Specs: Druids will now
have 4 definitive specs with feral DPS and Tank being separated.
Warlock Resources & Pets:
Warlocks will be gaining a unique resource for each spec type,
and Warlocks will be able to summon new types of demonic pets (Shivan,
Wrath Guard, Beholder, + more).
Dispels: Dispel type
abilities will have a small cooldown and duration, but will now
remove all debuffs.
Mana Pool: Intellect will no
longer directly increase the size of players' mana pools. Spirit
will become more important for healers' mana regen.
Spell Resistance: Spell
resistance will be removed in MoP. There are no buffs that
improve it and there shouldn’t be much, if any, spell resist
Resilience: Resilience may
be renamed "PVP Defense" and will
become a base stat increasing with level. This will help new
players enter the PvP system without such a steep resilience
Offensive PVP Stat: PVP
Power will be a stat included on pvp items that will
increase damage dealt to other players as well as healing done
to other players in pvp situations.
PVP Gear Item Level: PvP
gear will be lower in item level than PvE gear of an equivalent
Changes Players will Not find in WoW upon
the release of MoP
Player Housing: Although the
devs have revisited the feature multiple times, they will not
introduce it in Mists of Pandaria.
True BoA Items: Right now,
bind to account items can only be traded between characters on a
single server. This will probably not change in Mists of
New Profession: A new class
and new playable race will have to suffice. No new professions
are planned, although existing professions will receive updates
as with every expansion.
Spectator Mode: A spectator
mode to watch other players battle in Raids, Battlegrounds and
Arenas is being considered by Blizzard, but will probably not
enter this expansion.
Developers had discussed restricting the
exponential improvement of stats so that the
difference between an NPC 5-10 levels below you is less and they
might be a little tougher to handle. This change will not take
place in WoW MoP, but may happen in a future expansion.
Mounted Combat: Mists of
Pandaria will not offer this feature that has been suggested
multiple times by the community.
Dance Studio: The dance
studio has been put on the backburner and will not be a new
feature of Mists of Pandaria
Hide Shoulders: An interface
option to hide shoulder armor will not be available in Mists of
